Most of the important things in the world fall into an ordered series of stages corresponding to the life-functions and the life-forms.   The Stages, with certain sample associations, are as follows:

Stage 1 is the stage of pure existence and defiance of death.  Aspects of Stage 1 include: cannibalism, absolute egoism, pure action, sans any consciousness whatsoever.

Stage 2 is the stage of consumption, a sense of oneself as existent.  There is a one-sided self-consciousness, consciousness without any real sense of an opposing world.  It is assertoric, not in a violent manner but in a persistent one.  This is the world of food, agriculture, need, automaticity, laboriousness.

Stage 3 is the stage of pure immersion in the environment.  It has a sense of the world as sensation impinging upon itself.  Aspects are sentimentality, vagueness, narcissism, feeling, oneness with the universe, environmentalism.

Stage 4 is the stage of action, violence, sex, mechanicalness, pure deeds without pre-meditation whatsoever, Machiavellianism, engineering, capitalism, success, laughter, aggression, war, empire.

Stage 5 is the stage of morality, philosophical idealism, the categorical imperative, seriousness, community solidarity, conformity, the Protestant Reformation, Islam.

Stage 6 is the stage of pragmatism, happiness, sexual pleasure, custom, history, matter-of-fact-ness, liberty, libertarianism, utilitarianism, the middle class, Americanism, Napoleon, Australianism.

Stage 7 is the stage of whimsy, fashion, fancy, freedom, wit, cleverness, self-consciousness, Oscar Wilde, clique-iness, opinionatedness, satire, boredom, France, the aristocracy.

Stage 8 is the stage of mass society, objective reality, science, the Enlightenment, social equality, the nation-state, the Declaration of Independence, the upper middle class, technology.

Stage 9 is the stage of community, the family, gossip, interconnectedness.

Stage 10, cognition, is the stage of language, pure consciousness, the Internet, world society.
