Life consists of the life-functions, the life-forms, and the life-force animating evolution.  The life-functions evolved over time, each life-function corresponding to a major life-form. The life-force drives the transitions between the life forms.

The ten life-functions are:
• reproduction
• metabolism
• sensation
• locomotion
• intention
• memory
• expression
• perception
• emotion
• cognition

The life-force is doctrine of general multiplicity, dispensing social rather than individual benefit.

Three great Phases – Reproduction, Sex, and Communication – define the upward progress of the life-force.

The ten life-forms are:
• viruses
• microbes
• plants
• insects
• fish
• reptiles
• birds
• mammals
• primates
• humans

The life-functions are a layered series of levels, each level contributing an essential element to life.  The life-functions are the basis of psychology and personality.  An intertwining caduceus (pictured above) of gender difference laterally crisscrosses the vertical development of the life-forms  The life-force fills in explanatory gaps in the scientific account of evolution. The life-force is critical to the understanding of relationships.  Each life-form inhabits a world which the life-form discovers and constitutes. The life-worlds give rise to the phenomenology of the external world. consciousness, and culture.
